PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS LEARNING PLATFORM.
THIS AGREEMENT APPLIES TO THE TERMS OF USE FOR AN INDIVIDUAL USING EDUGO-MOODLE, A LEARNING PLATFORM ADMINISTERED BY SNELLMAN-INSTITUUTTI RY (“RY” REFERRING TO AN ASSOCIATION REGISTERED WITH THE FINNISH PATENT AND REGISTRATION OFFICE). THIS AGREEMENT, WHICH COVERS BOTH THE LEARNING MATERIAL ON THE PLATFORM AND THE MATERIAL PRODUCED BY THE USER THEMSELVES, IS A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT BETWEEN THE USER AND SNELLMAN-INSTITUUTTI RY.
BY LOGGING IN TO THE MOODLE SYSTEM, YOU ACCEPT THIS AGREEMENT AND AGREE TO FOLLOW ITS TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO ACCEPT THIS AGREEMENT, YOU SHOULD CONTACT SNELLMAN-INSTITUUTTI BEFORE CONTINUING TO LOG IN.
1. Terms of use for the material present/ added onto the learning platform
1.1 Restrictions on terms of use
In connection with your use of the learning platform, you have the right to use the material as follows:
- right to store material in digital form on a computer hard disk, on a portable storage device or on other digital platforms
- right to make paper copies of the material for personal use
- right to make back-up copies of your own content
- right to modify the material and to combine it with other material on the learning platform (original sources must be credited)
- right to use derivative works based on original material in same ways as the original material (original sources must be credited)
- right to utilise the material in other ways within a closed group (e.g. in groupwork situations)
The material must not be used for any other purpose than the ones specified in this agreement, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the rightholder.
Copies made by virtue of this agreement must not be used, distributed, displayed, publicly shown or otherwise made available for the public in any other context, unless otherwise agreed with the rightholder/rightholders.
The user rights specified in this agreement are non-transferable.
1.2 Ethical terms of use
When using the materials or parts thereof, you are obliged to credit the author of the material and other rightholders according to good practice. Rightholder entries included in the material must not be deleted.
1.3 Terms of use for computer software
Where the material contains software in machine-readable form (object code), the following actions are prohibited without the prior written consent of the rightholder of the software, except to the extent permitted by mandatory law:
(a) reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling or converting the software into human-readable form,
(b) modifying or creating derivative works based on the software,
(c) incorporation of the software into other software,
(d) sublicensing, renting, leasing, lending or in any other manner distributing the software or its parts as such or in modified form, and
(e) any use or copying of the software for purposes other than those specified in paragraph 1 of this agreement.
2. Duty of care
You are obliged to comply with the restrictions on the terms of use specified in this agreement. You must carefully store your username and/or password and ensure that they do not fall into the hands of a third party. You are responsible for the use of material with your username and/or password.
3. Liability for damages
If your use of material on the platform violates the terms and conditions of this agreement, you are liable for all possible damages to Snellman-instituutti that arise as a result.
4. Agreement on the use of material produced by the individual
You agree that any content you have added onto the learning platform can be utilised by Snellman-instituutti in connection with the activities for which the content was intended.
Snellman-instituutti may copy, present and display user content in connection with said activities, share hard copies or distribute user content in data networks with other users.
Snellman-instituutti will not utilise user content after the end of the intended use or in connection with any activities for which user content was not intended, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Governing law and dispute resolution
This agreement is governed by the laws of Finland and disputes arising out of it will be settled in the North Savo District Court (in Finnish “Pohjois-Savon käräjäoikeus”).

9. Data storage and deletion

Data will not be shared with outside parties, except for the client organisations of Snellman-instituutti that have purchased the right to use EduGo. Upon request, user data can be disclosed to designated persons in these organisations when it comes to the organisations’ own users. The data are stored on the server of Mediamaisteri Oy (a Finnish limited company) in Finland. The client organisation is responsible for deleting user data itself. If the client relationship is discontinued, Snellman-instituutti will delete these data. |
